LPWCC home

Jono Bennett

I first started playing cricket for Dereham CC, Norfolk in the UK back in 1997 as a 5 year old. I used to be paid 5 pounds if I could run around the ground in under 2 minutes, strange but I always seemed to do it in 2 minutes, and 1 second!

Played for school when we came back to NZ ocassionally but on Saturdays I played for LPW Under 12's.

When I went to Boys High I played three seasons in various teams but did little to write home about.

I returned to LPW as a 16 year old and played second grade, which was great as my older brother Jamie was in the side. I learnt alot from him and also the team captain, Ben Cameron.

My first senior game was in 2008-09 in the last game of the season against East Shirley, which was an awesome experience, I scored 5 in the first innings and 7 not out in the second.

I am to attend the NZ Institute of Sport in 2010, and work part-time as a general dogsbody at Le Cafe in the Arts Centre.
