Premier Men, Garry MacDonald and Support team - Winners (undefeated) of the 2009 National Club One-Day Tournament.

To a Team of Champions, what an awesome achievement.
The first Christchurch club to win outright and only the second team in 17 seasons to remain unbeaten.

This result is huge guys, easily the biggest on-field accomplishment in our merged Club's history.

Well done and Congratulations, you have made us all extremely proud.

Winter well guys, for you have all earnt it.

We have a young man by the name of Paul Morruzzi arriving this weekend from our sister club Cockfosters.

He is here to experience our hospitality for the remaining 7 weeks of the season and would appreciate any team willing to take him on. Leg spinner by trade.

Really nice guy, good team man just wants a game in order to extol the virtues of our club back in Blighty.

Goes by the nickname of Cheezy!

Hello club mates. As another season approaches I'm duty bound to give you all an update of LPWCC.

James Winstanley has taken an opportunity to play first grade cricket in Sydney for Sunderland, we wish him all the best as Brett Lee also plays for the club and the practice wickets are dodgy at best!

James Baxendale is coming right after a horrific off season league injury,
James twisted an ankle and had 3.5 months on the sideline, he even needed crouches. During his comeback game against the Cant womens team he got knocked out by the womens stand off. Hard luck mate!

Hamish Woodley and Bruce Cameron celebrated the civil union in July, a first for the club, it wont be the last! Adam Vandy Pants has been going steady with old brown cheeks' former Mrs, great news mate. John the Tongan has been playing on the wing for the Warriors.

Good luck for the preseason match against Marlborough, as good club men corn and I wont be there, anything to help!

Catch you soon remember "Line & Length" and run the first one hard!!

Whats this hair you are talking about Macca?

I may pop over for a holiday at the end of the year, see how I go. I got the call up to 2nds at the start of the season & ended up staying there :(

Did the old mans roll, part time Bowl, Batt & enjoy a few drinks. Batt avg 23, Bowl avg 18.. No where near as good as Robbo, but then again who is?

Congrats to 1st Grade mens & womens on their one day results. I guess some of the youngsters listened to you at some stage Macca ;)

Enjoy the off season.. Do the Arabs still run around? If they do, all the best..

ps; whats doing with NZ cricket? Very soft display. Even the Aussies are giving me shit, they thought we are better than that lol

Well done on winning the 2 day competition guys!

I never thought it was possible without me. We won our comp this year too. I got 589 wickets at 0.19 ave. My batting has improved also but enough about me. Oh and I got 467 runs at 80.58. I'm still the best player in my team. Who's yours? I bet I'm better.

It's good to see Adam Van D.................y has grown in the keeping wickets department, all the practice I gave him catching behind the stumps when I was bowling has really paid off.

Was there a miss print on the stuff website? It said that James Baxendale got hit for 4 six's in a row. He used to hit the 6's has he changed? I spose
he's playing soccer in the winter too now!! Well done to Shane Mcconnell too I hear he was the LPWCC player of the final? Once again all the seasons of hard work Macca and I have put into him are now paying big. Makes you proud! Well I'll see you in the highlights package guys...........

To Macca, Andrew and the Team you bloody beauts..... Well done guys. Your one day triumph is a fantastic achievement, being a landmark for both the team and the Club. This accomplishment is made all the more special with it being the first Premier Men's trophy for the combined Club.

To this season win both Men's and Women's One Day Competitions is a superb effort and speaks volumes for all involved.

Well done and congratulations. We are all so proud of both teams success.

Wishing both teams all the best for future successes.

We would just like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone at LPWCC for making Ian so welcome. Having spoken to Ian over the last five months,

Just a quick note to let everyone know, I have just completed my degree in Sport Psychology which my services are available free of charge for any of the mighty Lancs.

I have come up with a new formula of how to intergrate off field activities with on field activities, known as the "48 hour bender plan". Through this you will be able to complete a whole season without any memory of doing so.

Wadoe I will return to Christchurch only if you will captain and coach the Cantabs.

Dear LPWCC loyal,

Great to see that this website has successfully made us truly global....
For those of you who are unaware I have embarked on a national tour of NZ bringing the LPWCC gospel to Aoeteroa. Good news from Napier, Aaron Redmond is not coming back!

Marcel MacKenzie and Neil Broom are keen to return to ChCh and play under Andrew Ellis. They just have some contracts to run out first. I hit Hamilton tomorrow, since Bruce Cameron moved in the late 90's (10 years after mo's were std male attire) we have no prospects here.

At this stage I feel a shout out to James Winstanley is in order..........for those who don't know James is the oldest LPWCC senior team member (by 9 years) and thankfully for James, Ryan MacCone is playing, making him the 2nd lightest team member (no, not in runs, kg's!). Well done James from us all at LPWCC.

After a late night training session with the seniors (Cornelius master class!) I believe I can still out drink them, out weigh them and bowl quicker than them. But I must admit Marty Kain is a dancing machine (a unique unrivalled style, proving he can raise his heart rate above resting) morphed crazy frog and motor bike riding...... I look forward to stage two.

Good luck for the rest of Nov club mates and look after our foreigners!!
I'm off for a run.....my training is like a rice bubble ad......snap, crackle and pop!

Hello to all back home.

I take it pre-season training is on the way. Good luck to all for the new season.

I am still on the Gold Coast, be 10 years next month. Gee I miss the cold....Currently playing for Runaway Bay Cricket club. http://www.runawaybaycricketclub.com.au/

Playing in 4th Grade now, social fun with mates. We won the grade last year & hope to repeat this season. I play as a bowler now, well could never score many runs lol & as I am with old boys, someone has to bowl into the wind.

Nice effort on the website... was thinking of home, did a search.... well done on the site. Good to see some of the old heads are still around. Hope you all have a good season. Plenty of runs, wickets, wins, drinks etc. If on holiday over here, track me down. Be good to catch up.

Frenchy :)

To date not a single offer to put the two lads from the UK up. They don’t need to stay together so if you can only put one up that's a start and maybe someone else could take the other. Emphasise also that it is not for the season, just maybe a couple of weeks, giving them time to bed in before finding a flat or whatever.

Please if you can help, get in touch with me a.s.a.p.

Many thanks.

Paul (pbennett@slingshot.co.nz)

To add on from Paul's message;

Both are coming over from my cricket club so have heard all the great stuff about the club. I sure you lot will look after them willing and give them all the support you gave me in my years in CHCH. It will be great if someone could help out, both are extremely talented cricketers, far much than I was (not hard thou aye?)

Hoping you lot are all well,

We have two young lads coming over this season from the UK and they would like to play for LPWCC. Both are 18 years, in fact twins, and are seeking someone to put them up for a short time before finding a flat for themselves.

If any one from the club could possibly help out could you ring me on 331 6024 as soon as possible.

It would be much appreciated in helping to settle them in.

G'day folks,

I have just been surfing the web and came across the LPWCC club website - what a cracker!

Top effort to the folks who put this together and maintain the site - it will be great to follow the club activities over the web. Which reminds me to get my social membership in order...

I was disappointed not to be able to make it to the LPCC reunion, but heard it was a great weekend

Looking forward to the next time I am in ChCh and coming down to the club house for a drink.

Hope you are all well,

Might bring it into perspective those that do not pay their subs!!

Full playing club membership for 2006 is £115 (with a £10 discount if received by the end of May). Additional match fees are then charged.

Please ask about reduced rates for students etc.
