With the departure of long serving coach Garry MacDonald, we have been fortunate to secure the services of First Class Stalwart, Michael Parlane in a player/coach role. Mike has an extensive playing career representing Northern Districts and Wellington over some 20 years. Below is an extract from Mike in a piece from the November 2011 Creaseline Newsletter. You can email Mike directy at mike@lpwcc.co.nz Hi all, I started my Career as a 12 year old playing for Mangakaramea which is a great Club in Northland. I made my representative debut for Northland at the age of 17 and have made Cricket my Career ever since. I am passionate about the game and love the longer format of the game the most. Now that I am in the Coaching Arena I am excited about the possibilites that lie ahead of me and really enjoying the LPWCC environment. The Club is well run and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone better throughout the season. I'm positive we are going to have a successful season and my Goals for the Season are aiming towards taking out the title in every form of the game and leading the team to Auckland for the National Club Champs. My Coaching Philosophy is to play positive cricket, adapt to the conditions and play the game accordingly while having respect for the game, the opposition all while achieving the desired outcome which is to win the game. Regards Mike

I've been living in Christchurch part time (between commuting to play for Northern Districts and Aberdeen in Scotland) for the past couple of years. I've recently married a One Eyed Cantab named Trace and we have a 11 month old wee boy called Austin who already loves throwing and chasing balls.
